Serves as a further introduction to the field of industrial controls; Students will learn the principles of control systems and how they are applied to a production system to achieve automation; Systems included in the courses are stepper motors, programmable logic controllers, microprocessors, computers and feedback systems; Emphasis is placed on programmable logic controllers and the local area network;


Course Objectives:

  • 1 Interpret and create basic ladder logic diagrams
  • 2 Create PLC programs from line diagrams and schematics
  • 3 Assemble a basic PLC system from modular components
